Perryville Clinics & Layout Tours, 28 Mar 26
Twenty-four attendees took part at the Division meeting, held the morning of 28 Mar 26, at the Perryville Railroad Museum and Train Station. The museum included an operating HO scale display and numerous photos of local railroads. Amtrak and Norfolk Southern trains regularly passed by during the morning.
After Division Superintendent, Kirk Bateman, welcomed the attendees, Division AP Chair, Kurt Thompson, presented Scott Wooddell with two certificates of achievement for (1) Chief Dispatcher and (2) Master Builder – Scenery.
Rich Hafer of the Perryville Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society spoke about the railroad museum, the chapter’s efforts to engage the community, and work on documenting the history of railroads in the region.
Scott Wooddell presented a clinic about the history of railroads in Cecil County, and Bill McAleese (via recorded video) presented a clinic on building Metcalfe paper structures .
In the afternoon, four generous model railroaders opened their home layouts for visitors: Scott Wooddell, Bill Freeland, Ken Poznaniak, and David DiCarlo.
