Events

Three local layouts were opened for visitation by Chesapeake Div. member on September 22nd.

  • David Vaughns Nickel Plate/Canandaigua Southern in O Scale
  • Jim Brewer’s N&W Shenandoah Valley Line in HO Scale
  • Kelly Regan’s B&O Georgetown Branch in HO Scale

The Division thanks these hosts for opening their layouts to visitors.

A Nickel Plate (NKP) 2-8-4 Berkshire and Alco RS11 head past each other on David Vaughn’s O scale layout. Visitors were able to take one of these trains on a trip around the layout.
Jim Brewer’s Norfolk & Western (N&W) layout is notable for its realistic scenery and has been featured in several model railroad publications over the years.
Kelly Regan’s layout is still under construction, but it already features several historically accurate scratch-built structures, such as this model of the Talbot Ave. bridge in Silver Spring, MD, as it existed in the 1950s.
