Division Annual General Meeting
The Chesapeake Division will held its 2018 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday, November 3rd, 2018. We enjoyed our April visit to the BORHS greatly and inquired about using the facility as the location for out annual meeting, which was granted. The new Division By-laws were approved, new members of our Board of Directors were elected and a couple of presentations were given by the members:

Mid-Eastern Region Convention
The Potomic Divsion hosted the 2018 Mid-East Region convention from October 4th through the 7th, in Rockland, MD - past details may be found on the Potomac Division Convention web site.

B&O Railroad Historical Society Visit
Greg Smith, president of the B&O Railroad Historical Society (BORHS) welcomed the Division to their new Museum on Saturday, April 14, 2018. The BORHS staff provided guided tours of the facility, along with explanations and samples of BORHS Archives holdings, a discussion on how to go about performing research, entertained questions regarding their work and their research, and provided information on how to volunteer for Society Archiving activities.
The visit will began with arrival and a meet-n-greet.

2:00p Conduct personal research in the Archives
This is a great facility for any interested in the B&O to reach into the archives for valuation maps, equipment lists, structures, timetables, industries served and much more. Although you may not be a B&O modeler, the archives may possess information valuable to your own railroad if it exchanged with the B&O or if you wish to peruse general references such as Original Railway Equipment Registers.

Modelers’ Day In and Public Showcase
The Division hosted a Modelers’ Day In and Public Showcase on Saturday, March 31 at the Glen Burnie Branch Library, 1010 Eastway, Glen Burnie, MD 21060. The doors opened at 9:00am for setup and everyone was at work on their projects by 10:00am.
Work was started on bringing the Division's display layout, Chesapeake City Railway and Dock Co. (CCR&D), into operating condition after sitting idle for a few years.
Dave and Michelle Chance, from Piedmont Southern Division, Martin Brichbiel, prior MER Contest chair, and MER Treasurer Brian Kampschroer attended to assist with model judging and to offer friendly advice on technique improvments.
