February 2-4 & 23-25, 2018
The Division has scheduled two weekends to help members make progress on their layouts, either to assist you in moving your layout forward, to get more out of your layout, in preparation for the operation sessions planned for May, OR to help on another member’s layout to lend your expertise and/or learn new skills. The Division is looking for persons in need, and persons who can help - think of it as RR-match / NMRA!
Does electrical work make you cringe, or is it a task you can assist others with? How about track laying or backdrops? We will to our best to place a helper or two with each person asking for assistance. And it's not just for those who have a layout in progress; if you need help putting pencil to paper or massaging the lines of the yard that's preventing you from moving out of the armchair phase, a Division member will be able to help.
Helpers need not be experts, but should be willing to lend a hand to others in areas where they believe they can. We are focusing on February 2-4 and 23-25, which should allow enough flexibility to conduct a day of work.
Click on the SURVEY link to submit your request for help, state your availability to help or both! Responses are required by January 26, 2018.

Modelers’ Day In and Public Showcase
NOTE - THE LOCATION OF THIS EVENT HAS CHANGED!
The Division will host a Modelers’ Day In and Public Showcase on Saturday, March 31. This event will be held at Glen Burnie Branch Library, 1010 Eastway, Glen Burnie, MD 21060. The doors will open at 9:00am, and we will open to the general public at 10:00am. Doors will close at 4:00pm to allow time to pick up and clean up before the Library closes.
What do you need to bring? A project you can work on that demonstrates some aspect of the hobby. If you want, you can provide a 15 minute and/or six-seven slide-show PowerPoint presentation, with or without handouts. As you work, be willing to engage viewers in a discussion of your project, and what makes you want to be a model railroader.
We will also have the Division's display layout there. If you don't have any work of your own to bring, you can help by showing off and working on the Chesapeake City Railway and Dock Co. (CCR&D). You can also help by guiding members of the public through the workshops and displays.
Some members have already been lined up for the brief presentations. Included are two former Division Superintendents, Tom Casey and Kurt Thompson. Please contact Kurt Thompson if you want to make a specific presentation.
